Security On Different Sized Construction Projects

        Featured Image

Construction sites and projects range in size from small operations to large sites covering many acres so securing and protecting sites and equipment can be challenging in such changeable and varied environments.

Small Civils roadside storage compound. Very often, civil projects will set up a storage compound in a public area as a base to work from and store equipment and materials.

These compounds generally don’t have a budget for a guard or a CCTV tower and frankly either would be overkill for a compound 20 meters on a side. This is an arc where RaiderVision excels. All systems comprise a control unit with siren and a keypad, but for a compound of this size, two cameras would be sufficient to provide a high level of intruder detection making RaiderVision along with police and SIA guard response an extremely cost-effective solution to compound security.

Self build single dwelling sites. This type of customer takes the most interest in site security as they are generally using their own capital for the project.

The modular nature of the RaiderVision system is ideal for this type of project due to its low cost structure. Typically two or three cameras are sufficient to provide a high level of security and police and guard response. Self build customers also appreciate twice weekly camera testing and status reports our control room email to our clients, giving peace of mind that their site is secured effectively at all times.

Large Developments. This is historically the domain of man guards, but more and more clients are switching entirely to high quality services such as RaiderVision who not only provide the detection system, but SIA rapid guard response and police response to video confirmed intrusions.

Many sites have multiple guards, costing tens of thousands of pounds a year each. RaiderVision can really come in to its own in these large site situations. An unlimited number of cameras can be located around the site. Unlike CCTV towers, RaiderVision does not suffer from the problem of blind spots created by newly built structures on site, so site security is extremely high when RaiderVision is deployed. RaiderVision is watching the site every moment that the system is armed, whereas a guard can only see his or her immediate area and cannot see anything during the time they spend inside their cabin, which is much more than the typical guarding company would have you believe. RaiderVision also works very well in conjunction with man guards. Many sites traditionally using multiple guards have reduced the guards to one per shift and use the RaiderVision system to tell the guard where to go when intruders access the site. This provides the developer with significant cost savings over the project duration.
